Black and White Photography
For me, black and white photography is a conscious decision to experience the world beyond its superficial colors. It's an immersion into the fundamental elements that define a subject: the expressive interplay of light and shadow, the striking lines, the subtle textures, and the raw feeling of the moment.
This reduction sharpens the eye for what color often conceals. It challenges me to capture the inherent aesthetic of a subject in its purest form.
Alongside my digital work, I enthusiastically use historic cameras dating from 1934 to 1965. Their unique optics and the associated nostalgic character lend the images an additional layer of history and an aura as if they themselves were witnesses to another era.
In this gallery, I present a selection of my black and white photographs. Discover how this deliberate reduction uncovers the deeper structure of form, light, and shadow and conveys the emotions of the moment in a truly special way.
